Chemo Infusion #2

Today was unexpectedly good.

It was a looooong night, however. Took me forever to go to bed and then I was awoken early from the little monkies. Worth it, though.

My appointment was at 10, so Josh was able to drop off the kids at school. Evelyn had her first fundraising “opportunity,” so their class won costume-wearing today, and then they ran a bunch of laps for pledges. (Both kids have Cub Scout fundraising to do, so I’ll hit ya’ll up for that soon ?)

Got Starbucks on the way to infusion, because PSL. Then it’s off to room #11 where one of my favorite nurses was mine for the day! We bonded at an earlier blood draw. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was really worried that the chemo gets worse as you go along, but she said it’s not likely. She told me I was looking good – must be the water, she said! So awesome. I’m going to keep up this jug-drinking. It’s 128 oz! It goes down surprisingly fast.

Here I thought that the “loading dose” – the first infusion – was more than all the rest. NOPE. I got more this time and in a smaller timeframe. Oddly, I didn’t feel any different, really. I got pretty warm at the end of last treatment, and this time, nothing. I can kinda feel the heartburn, but it’s muted thanks to the omeprazole. Tummy also feels bloated but we’ve got that covered, too! Not as much out-of-body feeling, no neuropathy like last time.

It took a bit to get started because I had gained weight instead of losing any. (They have to change the dosage if your weight changes.) Part of me is like DAMMIT, but the nurse said this is a very good thing.

I’ll take all of that!

So, feeling good right now! I’ve been working, even. I’m pretty tired, though. The lack of sleep is catching up.

Wigs

I reported how the kids are kinda particular about the color of my wigs. And by “kids,” I mean Evelyn. They have now approved several wigs!

Wigs need names, as my friends tell me. This is Wednesday (like Wednesday Addams). I am not good at cutting bangs…

Here’s one that’s taking name requests! The kids approved this color.

And meet the Amie Allison! lol So Amie is a real person – a really good friend of mine who was over here not too long ago, and Evelyn thinks it looks like Amie’s hair. ?

Also, you get a tiny glimpse of my pen obsession.

OMG, Iโ€™m loving the wigs!! That purple one makes me think of the name Natalie or Nicole – for no particular reason. Also, thatโ€™s very Moira Rose of you to name them all. ?

Fun wigs! I like them all. My favorite would be the purple ๐Ÿ™‚ I thought of Leela when I saw it even though she has a long purple ponytail (Futurama). Sounds like your girls are harsh critics lol
